Broadway Licensing Global and its family of imprints (Broadway Licensing, Dramatists Play Service, Playscripts, and Stageworks) is the global leader in theatrical licensing and distribution. The iconic works represented epitomize the greatest collection of authors, composers, lyricists, and underlying rights holders across the globe including Stephen King, Alan Menken, Arthur Miller, Lynn Nottage, Elvis Presley, Paula Vogel, Tennessee Williams, the Beatles, the Bee-Gees, and Harry Potter Theatrical Productions.

The Broadway Licensing Global collection of titles represents an astonishing 40 Tony Award® and 49 Pulitzer Prize-winning works. The company leverages its team’s expertise in licensing, theatrical production, theatre education, and content creation to diversify, strengthen, and rapidly expand its portfolio into new sectors and markets. Founded in 2017, Broadway Licensing has quickly scaled and, as of 2022, the company represents 8 of the Top 10 most produced plays in professional theatres and 9 of the Top 10 most produced plays in High Schools.

In 2020, Broadway Licensing Global launched the Emmy Award® nominated streaming platform Broadway On Demand, offering exclusive theatrical content, interactive events, and original programming. Additionally, Stageworks Productions, the original live stage content creation arm dedicated to the development of innovative, theatrical intellectual properties has developed several world premiere musicals which have been produced in over 125 countries. In all, the combined force of the Broadway Licensing Global family of imprints continues to grow, with a singular goal to make everyone in the world a theatre person.

Dan Markley (he/him)
COO

With a distinguished career spanning three decades in New York City’s theater scene, Dan Markley is a seasoned producer, manager, owner, and investor. Notably, he served as the Executive Director of the New York Musical Festival from 2013-2018 and played a pivotal role in the development of 37 Arts, a venue that housed three theaters and the Baryshnikov Arts Center. Markley’s Broadway and Off-Broadway productions include acclaimed shows like Stomp, Damn Yankees, The Vagina Monologues, Shockheaded Peter, and White Christmas.

Beyond the stage, Markley’s diverse portfolio includes consultancy for the Dreamland Film and Performing Arts Center and the White Heron Theatre on Nantucket. As an investor, he has participated in over forty commercial productions and managed the Select Entertainment Fund, a specialized hedge fund with global show investments.

Markley’s extensive industry contributions extend to his early career, where he served a presidential appointment as Director of Entertainment for the 1990 G-7 Economic Summit. He is a lecturer and has also been actively involved in various boards, including The Nantucket Dreamland Foundation and Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre. Markley holds a BFA in Acting from The Florida State University School of Theatre.

Glenn Turell (he/him)
CFO

Glenn Turell (he/him) has leveraged his passion for financial, analytical, and strategic excellence to strengthen corporate performance and maximize investor value for companies across diverse environments as a Senior Finance and Operations Executive. As a Trusted Business Advisor and Adaptive Change Agent, Glenn has repeatedly been sought out based on his agility and the ability to gain the confidence of private equity firms, boards of directors, and senior leadership teams while navigating organizations through startup, hypergrowth, turnaround, transformation, consolidation, M&As, presale, and exit situations. Stakeholders, management, and peers refer to Glenn as an inclusionary leader, with the business and emotional intelligence that’s vital to implementing strategies that reverse negative trends, facilitate sustainable growth, and provide insights to optimize cash flow and investment returns.

Kent Nicholson (he/him)
SVP, Acquisitions & Artistic Services

Kent Nicholson (he/him) most recently served as Associate Producer of Musical Theatre at Playwrights Horizons in New York overseeing the creation and production of works such as A Strange Loop by Michael R. Jackson. Previously he served as the New Works Director for Theatreworks, Silicon Valley where he created the New Works Initiative and their New Works Festival. He also co-created The Uncharted Writers Group at Ars Nova, and has served on the boards of The Playwrights Foundation, The National Alliance for Musical Theatre, and Musical Theatre Factory. His directing work has been seen at South Coast Repertory, Berkeley Repertory, Seattle Repertory, and The Old Globe, among many others.

Jennifer Isaacson (she/her)
SVP, Licensing

Jennifer Isaacson is a two-time Tony Award®-winning producer. Most recently, Jennifer served as the Executive Producer for WalkRunFly, a theatrical production company represented on Broadway by Moulin Rouge! Jennifer’s Broadway co-producing credits include: An American in Paris, Hedwig and the Angry Inch starring Neil Patrick Harris, Of Mice and Men starring Chris O’Dowd, ANN: The Ann Richards Play starring Holland Taylor, and The Norman Conquests. Off-Broadway co-producing credits include: The 39 Steps and Beebo Brinker Chronicles.

Prior to joining WalkRunFly, Jennifer was a producer with Harriet Leve Productions where she was part of many critically acclaimed Broadway productions, including: The Mountaintop, La Cage Aux Folles, and A Little Night Music. Jennifer is a co-founder of the Broadway Women’s Alliance, a not-for-profit supporting, connecting, and empowering women on the business side of Broadway. Jennifer also serves as a board member of Houses on the Moon Theater Company and as a Steering Committee Member of Maestra Music.

Jeffery Keilholtz (he/him)
SVP, Marketing

As a Senior Vice President, executive team member, and Emmy Award-nominee, Jeff is grateful to wear many hats for one of the fastest-growing companies in Broadway entertainment. He is privileged to lead a talented team responsible for business development, sales, and marketing, across five diverse imprints at the center of art and commerce.

Jeff also oversees go-to-market strategy, revenue diversification, content acquisition and distribution, and licensing for the ground-breaking streaming platform, Broadway On Demand.

Before all of this, Jeff oversaw global communications, marketing partnerships, and business proposal architecture for a $250MM corporation, whereby he was directly responsible for the business growth of a blue-chip sales portfolio, valued at more than $100MM.

Marco Gentili (he/him)
VP, Human Resources

Marco Gentili (he/him) is a key executive at Broadway Licensing Global, bringing strategic HR expertise to the forefront of the Broadway entertainment industry. His role involves overseeing the strategic integration of HR practices within the company, focusing on areas such as talent acquisition, performance coaching, and HR technology integration.

Prior to his current position, Marco led the HR department at Alpha FMC – AWM / Axxsys in New York City. There, he was instrumental in implementing HRIS technology solutions and aligning HR strategies with the company’s business objectives, enhancing operational efficiency.

His tenure at Lightbox OOH Video Network and Gilbert was marked by successfully guiding teams through periods of strategic growth. Marco’s approach has always been to foster environments where strategic planning and team development are harmonized. At LaSalle Capital, Marco played a significant role in redefining HR’s contribution to the business, aligning it closely with overall business strategy and contributing to organizational restructuring and efficiency.

As the Vice President of Human Resources at Broadway Licensing Global, Marco Gentili is a pivotal figure in the organization’s ongoing success. His leadership in HR is marked by a focus on innovative strategies and operational excellence, which continues to drive the company’s growth and success in the entertainment sector.

Leah Barker (she/her)
VP, Music & Publications

As Vice President of Music & Publications, Leah Barker oversees the publication of over 100 plays and musicals a year across Broadway Licensing Global’s imprints and manages a back catalogue of more than 8,000 titles. Under Barker’s leadership, the publications department has increased its output by 150 percent. She has been with the company since 2015, when she joined Dramatists Play Service as an editor, and is a New York Times Critic’s Pick playwright.

Stewart Frey (he/him)
VP, Head of Technology

As the Vice President, Head of Technology at Broadway Licensing Global, Stewart Frey is excited to drive innovation and excellence, shaping the future of our data strategy and technology.

Stewart joins us from World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), where he served as Vice President. During his tenure, he established Centers of Excellence in Business Intelligence and Digital Analytics, championing a data-first philosophy that revolutionized WWE’s operations. Stewart introduced WWE’s first-ever Master Data Management solution and cross-business Data Governance teams, significantly enhancing data quality across the company’s digital platforms. He also played a pivotal role in the strategic transition of WWE from a rights owner to a content provider on NBC Universal’s Peacock platform, leveraging AI-driven proofs of concept to reduce subscriber churn and create new revenue streams. His leadership advanced the company’s streaming capabilities and Media Supply Chain.

Prior to WWE, Stewart was Vice President at Viacom, where he spearheaded the delivery of cutting-edge software solutions for asset management, rights management, and operations. He successfully transitioned the company from manual, tape-based workflows to an automated digital supply chain, servicing multiple platforms across broadcast and digital. His innovative approach consistently led to the creation of products that delivered value, reduced costs, and spurred growth.

Stewart holds an MBA from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. He is also the lead inventor on two patents in media packaging, underscoring his contributions to digital media innovation.

Nicole Azizi (she/her)
VP, Accounting

Nicole Azizi is a seasoned CPA with over two decades of global experience in accounting, financial leadership, and strategic operations. She has led financial functions across public and private companies in industries including tech and startup environments, telecom and data networking, and e-commerce, overseeing complex, multi-entity operations in the US, Europe, and the Middle East. As a results-driven leader and strategic partner, Nicole excels in building high-performing teams, optimizing financial systems, and driving compliance and accuracy in reporting. She brings deep expertise in ERP implementations, M&A due diligence, audit coordination, and cross-border tax planning, with a consistent track record of delivering clarity, structure, and efficiency in evolving business environments. Nicole began her career at KPMG, where she developed a strong foundation in audit, financial reporting, and compliance with US GAAP and IFRS standards.

Sara Skolnick (she/her)
Director, Acquisitions and New Work

Sara Skolnick is the Director of Acquisitions and New Work for Broadway Licensing Group and heads International & Touring Licensing, as well.  She also recently served, with Tom Casserly, as Director of the Grove/Whitman Commissioning Program, which developed ten new musicals under commission.  She previously spent five years as the Executive Producer at Grove Entertainment and, prior to that, worked for over eleven years at Broadway Across America (formerly Live Nation and Clear Channel Entertainment), ultimately serving as Vice President – Production/Director of Development.  At Broadway Across America, she also oversaw a commissioning program for the development of new musicals.  Sara is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in Comparative Literature and Theatre & Drama.

Stephanie most recently served as Creative Director at SBR Productions, a Tony Award® winning theatrical production company, represented on Broadway by Angels in America, Into the Woods, and many more. She was Associate Producer on the Broadway production of Amélie, which she helped develop from its early stages at Triptyk Studios, where she was Director of Development for nine years. There she had a hand in producing the Broadway productions of Xanadu, An American in Paris, Will Ferrell’s You’re Welcome America, and Oh, Hello. During the 2020–2021 Broadway shutdown, Stephanie produced several virtual benefits as Creative Director for Heredia vision, including BC/EFA’s Broadway Does Mother’s Day and NYTW’s 25 Years of RENT.
