How can I be sure that my school can produce “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” successfully?
Good news. An official High School Edition and Secondary School Edition of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” will be made available in 2024, so that schools of any size, of any level of budget, and of any level of technical capabilities can produce the show with ease.
When is “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” available to license?
While timelines are subject to change, the licensing of the title is intended to begin in the spring/summer of 2024, with productions able to be produced beginning in the fall of 2024.
When can colleges, community theatres, professional theatres and other organizations license “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”?
The timeline is to be determined, however the earliest organizations other than High Schools and Secondary Schools will be able to license the title will be in 2024.
Why can only High Schools and Secondary Schools license “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” to start?
While the COVID-19 global pandemic severely harmed all types of theatrical organizations, High School and Secondary School performing arts programs were particularly devastated. In order to put arts education and our future theatre makers first (the students!), Broadway Licensing Group and its partners have made a strategic decision to open opportunities for schools to have the first crack at this global phenomenon – as a tailored opportunity for those schools to pack the box office for their educational theatre programs to help them get back on their feet.
Are there any restrictions on gender in casting?
Great news. Any student of any gender identity can play any role, so long as the gender of the role is not changed.
